Kyanna has always expressed interest in art through drawing, painting, clay sculptures etc. She is very fond of rainbows and unicorns which inspired this painting (one of many). She also loves music, singing and dancing and always finds ways to express her artistic abilities!
A Message of Support from Springfield Public Schools
At Voices of the Spectrum 2026, we were honored to welcome Jose Escribano, Assistant Superintendent of Springfield Public Schools, who shared a powerful message about the importance of supporting students on the autism spectrum.
In his remarks, he acknowledged how exceptional and capable our students are and emphasized the need to not only raise awareness but to continue building systems of support for families. As the number of autism classrooms continues to grow within the school system, so does the responsibility to provide meaningful resources, education, and guidance for parents and caregivers.
His message served as a reminder that awareness is just the beginning. True impact comes from ongoing support, collaboration, and a shared commitment to ensuring every child is seen, understood, and given the opportunity to thrive.
We are grateful for the presence and continued support of Springfield Public Schools in helping us create a more inclusive and empowered community.
At our Jamaica outreach event, children were given the opportunity to participate in creative activities, play, and shared experiences alongside their peers. These moments reflect the importance of inclusive spaces where children feel safe to express themselves, build confidence, and simply be children.
At We Are Autism, we believe meaningful support starts with access, understanding, and environments that honor every child’s individuality.
Cultural Drumming & Dance Performance
Experienced a vibrant cultural moment as live African drumming filled the space, led by drummer Winston and his group.
Josette brought the rhythm to life through dance, expressing joy, confidence, and connection through movement. This performance highlighted the power of music and culture in creating inclusive spaces where children can freely express themselves.

We Are Autism had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a community fundraiser event in Springfield, Massachusetts. This event allowed us to showcase our mission, connect with families, and raise funds for our upcoming We Are Autism Community Awareness & Support Event in Jamaica 2025.
Our table featured custom tumblers, awareness merchandise, and beautifully crafted raffle baskets—all created to support children and families on the autism spectrum. It was an uplifting day filled with conversations, education, and community support. Every person who stopped by, donated, or shared encouragement played a meaningful role in helping us bring hope and resources to families in Jamaica next year.
This event is one of many steps toward building stronger, more inclusive communities both in the U.S. and abroad.
Our Jamaica outreach highlighted a critical reality: adults with disabilities are frequently underserved and overlooked. At We Are Autism, we believe support, education, and community must extend beyond childhood and continue throughout adulthood.
This gathering strengthened our resolve to advocate for inclusive spaces, meaningful engagement, and sustained support for individuals with disabilities and their caregivers—at every stage of life
